It's almost the big day!
We just know you're buzzing with anticipation. Or anxiety.
Housekeeping
Let's get ready

Pause automation
All automation (workflows/integrations) that could alter the results of the migration should be paused before we proceed.
In case something goes wrong with the import, we don't want 50k contacts to accidentally be enrolled in an email campaign with the first and last names switched, for example. (This has never happened.)
Also, if you have workflows enabled that change field values after the import, it makes the QA process quite difficult.

Turn off notifications
Some CRMs will send your users email or in-app notifications for each record assigned to them, and this will be quite annoying during the full migration.
You may be able to do this for the company as a whole, or each person may need to do it for themselves. Either way, we highly recommend it.

Watch, don't touch
We know you're eager to start working with the data, but please don't start working with the migrated data in the target portal until we're entirely done with the project.
If you delete or merge records, we lose our connection to them, and that will cause problems if we need to go back and correct something.
We strongly encourage you to keep using your source system until we jointly agree on a final cutover date.

Adjust settings
For customers migrating to HubSpot, please ensure that the 'Create and associate companies with contacts' setting has been disabled under Settings > Data Management > Objects > Companies.
For customers migrating to Salesforce, please ensure all validation and deduplication rules are disabled.
